Details and Criteria
• Nominee must live and/or work within Windsor-Essex County, Chatham-Kent or Sarnia-Lambton
• No nomination limit
• You do not have to be an AFP member to nominate
• You can nominate a past winner in a different category
• Nomination forms are not carried from year-to-year. Feel free to resubmit nominations from previous years for consideration this year.
1. Outstanding Community Philanthropist – This award honors an individual or family who demonstrates exceptional financial generosity and outstanding civic leadership. Nominees must show a proven record of personal charitable giving alongside a unique ability to motivate and inspire others to support non-profit causes across Southwestern Ontario.
2. Outstanding Business or Corporation – This award honors a business or corporation that demonstrates outstanding community commitment through financial support, corporate sponsorship, and philanthropic leadership. Nominees must show a proven track record of regional charitable giving alongside an active culture of encouraging employee volunteerism to benefit causes across Southwestern Ontario.
3. Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser – This award honors an individual or family who demonstrates outstanding skills in coordinating and motivating groups of volunteers for fundraising projects for local not-for-profit organizations.
4. Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy – This award honors an individual ages 5-25 who demonstrates an outstanding fundraising commitment to the community.
5. Outstanding Fundraising Professional – Recognizing a fundraising executive whose actions and leadership exemplify ethical and effective professional practice and whose performance has enhanced the financial resources and recognition of the organization(s) for which they work.
6. Outstanding Community Innovation – This award honors a not-for-profit organization that has created an innovative fundraising campaign or initiative that achieved or exceeded its target. This award will celebrate the challenges faced by the charitable sector to think outside the box by creating something new or breathing new life into an old campaign or initiative to increase funds and awareness.
7. Spirit of IDEA Award – Honoring an individual or organization who participate in a variety of corporate and community fundraising initiatives that strives for and promotes mutual respect, acceptance, cooperation or tolerance: any level of involvement in community events, projects, efforts or organizations that promote or celebrate tolerance and contribute to diversity awareness and inclusivity in the community and workplace.
